Nine Ways to REALLY, REALLY Upset, Annoy & Aggravate People on Twitter.
Hi, Gary Simpson here. OK, I confess - I'm a bit of a Twitter fan.

I want to help you understand Twitter and learn how to make friends rather than drive people away from you faster than a person with very bad body odor or halitosis breath. I guess you now have an impression of the sort of thing I’m going to tell you about.

Twitter. What a great source of making friends. Friends from all over the WORLD. Well, let me re-state that: What a great source of making friends from all over the world IF you go about it the correct way.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of people using Twitter have NO IDEA how to do this.

Instead, what they do – either deliberately, or without realizing it, is upset, annoy and aggravate people.

I don’t know why people would choose to upset anybody deliberately on Twitter but I guess maybe they do it to get a kick out of hurting others because of their own low self esteem or just through plain nastiness. I dunno. There are flamers and abusers and critics everywhere. So why not on Twitter? I’ve seen them. But enough about them!

My goal here is to alert you to some of the things that will definitely make you UNpopular and have people BLOCK you or not follow you or just plain ignore you.

As promised, here’s a short list of nine of those things:

  • 1 – Smashing anybody and everybody with endless affiliate links and promotions.

Maybe 1 in 100 people will click those links. Maybe 1 in 1,000 MIGHT buy something. It’s a TOTALLY useless and inefficient use of your time. So why do it?

  • 2 – Engaging in or promoting porn – again by slamming people with links to porn sites.

Twitter is cleaning up the vast amounts of porn that invaded it. But some people still sneak through and start showing revolting avatars and background pages. Twitter can be accessed by kids. Displaying or promoting porn on Twitter is dreadful. Do it and you will get blocked and banned really FAST!

  • 3 – Using services like Tweetlater to hit people up with junk like this:

    - What color M&M are you?
    - Join my mafia family,
    - I bought you a Corona [or some other silly thing], you should send me a gift,
    - Love your site. Visit mine at [link],
    - Join my ninja dojo,
    - Love your Tweets. Join me at Facebook [or some other site],

Can you see how daft, dull and boring all of those stupid comments are? Not to mention the utter insincerity of them! Being a fairly big player on Twitter, I get 100’s of these every day. I hate them. Everybody does. But the masses still keep sending them. Don’t send stuff like that. Surely you can think of something original that will interest others.

  • 4 – Telling people how great you are instead of showing them. Nobody will believe you and the harder you try the more you will turn people away.

  • 5 – Being boring. I have seen endless “tweets” from the SAME people just saying, “hello!” or “How are you?” People get tired very fast with those who just keep repeating banal single word greetings or useless repetitive questions like this.

  • 6 – Pinching other people’s tweets without deference. That is, not using the correct protocol of the RT (re Tweet).

  • 7 – Making rude, sexist, racist remarks – even if it is to nobody in particular. The world has gone beyond that, mostly. Or even worse, making such comments to a particular individual.

  • 8 – Displaying an avatar that belongs to somebody else. For example, using a “Penthouse Pet” style pic to flog cell phones, computer equipment or hi-fi gear. I chose those goods because that is EXACTLY what those using such avatars are doing.

  • 9 – Generally pretending to be somebody that you clearly are not (eg a “successful” marketer desperate to sell a $10 product). That will turn people off you VERY fast too.

So, there you have nine of the worst things that you can possibly do on Twitter to REALLY, REALLY upset, aggravate and annoy people.

Twitter can be wonderful. But… you need to learn the rules, the “ropes” and the way to engage people properly. I don’t have the space to tell you all the good and clever and strategic things you can do on Twitter here. There’s just too many of them. But if you want more information you can download a completely FREE 44 page e-book called “Twitter Muscle – How to Get NOTICED on Twitter.”

I have used these tips and techniques to build a pretty loyal following of over 22,000 people on Twitter AND I have formed good friendships with people in MANY countries, so I’m obviously doing things right.

You can get this FREE 44 page e-book - and start “tweeting” like a winner straight away - simply click this link and you can have your copy now ---> TWITTER MUSCLE E-BOOK
