Zen Garden > Sibyl McLendon

Sibyl McLendon from Tucson, Arizona, USA.

This edition of the Motivation & Self Esteem For Success "Achiever's Interview" is with Sibyl McLendon of Tucson, Arizona, USA. Sibyl's website is Circle-of-Grace.

Gary Simpson - Sibyl, what is the principal aim of your www.Circle-of-Grace.com website and what do you hope to achieve with it?

Sibyl McLendon - The principal aim of my website is to assist people in becoming empowered in their lives. I want to give the average person tools to help him or her to let go of the pain, the low self-esteem and the subconscious programming that is holding them back in life.

Gary Simpson - Excellent. What do you think is different about your website that makes it special?

Sibyl McLendon - Well, the first thing that makes my website different is that it is a reflection of me! I give away a tremendous amount of information, and everything is done in a style that reflects my personality and my unique way of looking at the world.

Gary Simpson - On a personal note, what do you consider to be your "crowning" achievement to date?

Sibyl McLendon - I have had a coaching client who has had an incredibly difficult life. She has been struggling with more negativity in her life than most people can ever even imagine, let alone live through. Recently I got a letter from her entitled, “I GET IT!” She had a total breakthrough in her thinking. She says that because of me, she can finally see how her experiences have programmed her thinking and held her back from everything she wants to do in life. It was very rewarding.

Gary Simpson - How long did it take you to achieve that goal?

Sibyl McLendon - I worked with her for almost a year. Working with her made me dig deeply into things from my own past and deal with them in order to help her. It was a very emotionally cleansing experience for me as well.

Gary Simpson - Thanks for sharing that Sibyl. What is the greatest difficulty you have ever had to overcome?

Sibyl McLendon - I had a very difficult childhood of abuse. It left me with a disassociative disorder in which I was constantly losing time and losing memories. This disorder made it extremely difficult for me to learn new things, to retain experiences and to overcome my painfully low self-esteem. I have dealt with this and overcome it!

Gary Simpson - Have you ever! What are three personal attributes you possess that help you to win?

Sibyl McLendon - My absolute belief in a Creator and that there is order in the universe, my inner peace and harmony (which I attribute to my Navajo culture) and my constant thirst for knowledge and growth.

Gary Simpson - Sibyl, are you a reader and, if so, what books do you read?

Sibyl McLendon - Yes Gary, I am an avid reader. I read for relaxation. I read a little bit of everything from mysteries to spiritual self-help books. I especially enjoy books about Native American culture and beliefs.

Gary Simpson - Do you have a favorite quote or saying and what is it?

Sibyl McLendon - I have many! But here are two of my favorites:

  1. “The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on. Not all your piety nor wit can lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all your tears wash out a word of it.” - From the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.
  2. "I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are." - Milton Berle.

Gary Simpson - They are fantastic quotes. I am so glad that you have shared them with our readers. What, if any, is one thing about the internet that annoys you the most?

Sibyl McLendon - I detest the incredible evil that exists on it. It reflects the worst of humanity - from child predators, to pornography to the greedy who are trolling for the innocent to rip them off and hurt them for no other reason than that they can.

Gary Simpson - Sibyl, what, in your opinion, is the most advantageous feature of the internet?

Sibyl McLendon - The reverse of the above. Incredible love also exists on the internet. You can meet the most wonderful people on it! People who live a world away from you, people that you would never be able to meet in person and who can become as dear to you as your family. Also, the vast amount of useful information that can be found on it. You can find out anything if you work at it.

Gary Simpson - I guess it just shows that the internet is an extension of life in general. Moving along, Sibyl, what project or projects are you currently working on?

Sibyl McLendon - I am working very hard at getting my first book published this year. I have also started a second book. I enjoy writing, and I try to write at least 3 articles a week. Also, we all need to make money in this life! So, I am also a website designer. And I am currently working on a huge shopping website.

Gary Simpson - Finally Sibyl, is there anything else you would like to say or add to the interview?

Sibyl McLendon - I really want to thank you Gary for the opportunity to be a part of this project. You are one of those people I have met on the Internet, that lives a world away from me but whom I have the greatest respect and love for. I believe that we get out of life exactly what we are looking for, that we are creating our own reality every moment of every day. If I can just get people to realize this simple fact, then I will leave this earth knowing that I made a difference.

Gary Simpson- That was really nice of you to say that Sibyl. Thank you so much for participating in this interview. The information you have shared has been very enlightening. It has given us a little bit of insight about you and your website. People can visit Sibyl's website at www.Circle-of-Grace.com. It is a fantastic website full of wonderful information and resources. I encourage everybody to take the time to have a look.
